NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR THE OHIO NATURAL RESOURCES HALL OF FAME COLUMBUS, OH -- Nominations are now being accepted for the Ohio Natural Resources Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is the state's top honor for individuals, past and present, who have made significant contributions to Ohio's natural resources through management practices, environmental education or scientific achievement. Nominations will be accepted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) through June 27, 2003. Special consideration is given to those who have taken a unique or innovative approach to stewardship of Ohio's natural resources. Created by ODNR in 1966, the Ohio Natural Resources Hall of Fame now numbers 125 individuals, including John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed), explorer John Wesley Powell, conservationist/novelist Louis Bromfield, pioneering botanist Lucy Braun and farming conservation advocate Bob Evans.
