Lake Erie Fishing Report: April 3, 2003

Substantial fishing activity continues in the Maumee and Sandusky Rivers
with frequent limits reported. Water temperatures have continued to rise,
prompting fish to make their annual pilgrimage to spawning grounds. Some
additional fishing activity has been reported around Catawba Island, anglers
apparently have been successful.

Steelhead success remains spotty due to high water levels and murky water,
however, conditions appear to be improving daily (provided no large rain
events move through the area).

Anglers are cautioned to exercise extreme care when wadding streams in the
spring, water temperatures are still cold and can be dangerous.
